Spyshot: All-New Toyota Corolla Altis Caught In Thailand – Malaysia Debut To Follow?

The all-new twelfth-generation Toyota Corolla Altis was recently spotted in Thailand, hinting that the new model’s Thailand launch is imminent.

Globally, the all-new Toyota Corolla sedan is available with three distinctive designs. Judging from the rear bumper profile of the taped-up car, it appears that Thailand will be receiving the FAW Toyota version of the Corolla sedan.

Toyota first unveiled the all-new Corolla in its hatchback guise early last year, followed by the wagon variant in October. The all-new Corolla sedan was introduced simultaneously in both China and the USA just a month later.

For the Chinese market, Toyota and its local partners, Tianjian FAW Toyota Motor and GAC Toyota Motor will be selling two versions of the new sedan concurrently – Corolla will be sold by FAW Toyota while the Levin will be sold by GAC Toyota. Both models will go on sale in China later this year.

Similar to the much-vaunted all-new Camry, the all-new Corolla sedan is built on the company’s TNGA platform. Gone is the rear torsion beam suspension set-up, now replaced by a more sophisticated multi-link set-up.

A Malaysian debut should follow after the model is introduced in Thailand.
