Spyshot: All-New 2017 Land Rover Discovery Spotted In Malaysia

Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia is set to introduce the all-new third-generation Land Rover Disovery here, as spyshot of the new model have emerged.

Our reader Peggy sent this spyshot of the new Land Rover Discovery here in Malaysia, indicating that JLRM is set to introduce this new model in the near future. We understand that JLRM will be introducing the Discovery with a 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6. While these two units appear to be wearing 19-inch alloy wheels, we believe that these could be units bound for homologation duties. Actual units could be wearing larger wheels. 

The all-new 2017 Land Rover Discovery made its initial debut about a year ago in UK, just ahead of the 2016 Paris Motor Show. Sales of the new Discovery commenced in the UK in February 2017.

Powertrain options include a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrol engine, a 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6, a 2.0-litre Ingenium turbodiesel and a 5.0-litre supercharged V8, with the latter being exclusive for the Land Rover Discovery SVX. All engines are mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic.

Land Rover developed the new Discovery on the Range Rover’s aluminium platform, allowing the new model to shave up to 480 kg over its predecessor. 

Fully-imported from Land Rover’s production facility in Solihull, UK, the new Discovery will be challenging the likes of the Volvo XC90 and Audi Q7 in the premium SUV segment.
