During the race weekend that stretches from August 7th to 9th, several sections of roads will be closed from traffic access from 6am to 6pm during those days. As Bernama reports, the affected roads are Jalan Ampang, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Raja Chulan and Jalan P Ramlee. GT Global Race (M) Sdn Bhd, the event’s organizer, made a statement saying that the night prior to the start of the race weekend, an FIA-approved temporary race circuit would be built within the streets of Kuala Lumpur. Construction, however, will only take place after dark on Thursday (6th August) between 10pm and 6am the next morning to have as minimal impact on motorists as possible. From Friday morning, contractors would close the affected roads and progressively shut gates and access points to properties along them. By 7.30am, all public and non-official vehicles will be cleared from the track and the roads will be off-limits from the general public. GT Global Race assured that up until the week of the race and during the dismantling period after the Grand Prix, access to all properties, public and private, in and around the circuit should not be affected any more than what is currently experienced for normal construction in Kuala Lumpur. For the race itself, it will start in front of Suria KLCC. From there, the racers will weave around Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Perak, and Jalan P Ramlee to complete the lap. It is hosted by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) and GT Global Race (M) Sdn Bhd. More than 100,000 spectators and visitors are expected to congregate around the race event over that weekend. ✕ Let's Connect on Whatsapp We protect your personal information in compliance with the PDPA I agree with Carlist.my Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
