Home News Auto News RapidKL Under Fire (Again) Over Last-Minute Bus Service Cancellation RapidKL Under Fire (Again) Over Last-Minute Bus Service Cancellation Auto News Sep Irran Halid | July 08, 2022 01:49 pm RapidKL is again in hot water after announcing the discontinuation of its express bus services located at the LRT/MRT Pasar Seni and KLCC stations. While cancellations and discontinuations are a normal part of any business and service provider, it was the timing that angered netizens. The RapidKL express bus services at the Pasar Seni and KLCC stations ended on 4 July 2022, but the announcement of the cancellation was only made on 3 July 2022 at 10:06 pm. Yo, what. According to Rapid Bus CEO Muhammad Yazurin Sallij Muhammad Yasin, the free bus service was cancelled due to a lacklustre reception since it started on June 17. He further added that on average only one passenger per route was recorded as commuters prefer to use the train instead. Hardly rocket science there. Also, why was the communication for the termination of said routes made in such an abrupt manner? This does however beg the question of who plans these bus routes and why is a feasibility study first not undertaken before these bus routes are established? The affected routes are SH01 (KLCC-Wangsa Maju), SH02 (Pasar Seni - Universiti) and SH03 (Pasar Seni - KLCC). Seeing as how the response was apparently underwhelming for these bus routes, it shouldn't be too much of a bummer to commuters. Don't forget that all RapidKL public transportation services (MRT, LRT, KL Monorail, and RapidKL) are free to use until the middle of July.
