Proton Recalls Proton Perdana 2012 To 2018 To Replace Airbags
Auto NewsPROTON is urging owners of the Proton Perdana built between 2012 and end of August 2018 to come in to have their passenger airbag inflator replaced.
So far PROTON reports that a total of 87.5 percent of the Takata airbags have been replaced. Proton Perdana's affected by this recall are those built from 2012 to the end of August 2018. This is part of a global recall for cars equipped with Takata airbags.
"Thanks to the joint efforts of our staff and dealers, PROTON managed to contact our customers and have performed the airbag inflator replacement exercise. There are 6,342 units affected and as of 18 August 2020, our service outlets have replaced 5,625 units or 87.5% completion," said Roslan Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of Proton Edar.
No other Proton models are affected by this recall as they come equipped with airbags from another supplier.
So if you're one of the remaining 717 owners that have yet to get your passenger airbag inflator replaced then please do so now.
