Production Of 2018 All-New Ford Fiesta Starts In Germany
Auto NewsFord has started production of the all-new 2018 Fiesta in Cologne, Germany. The 2018 Ford Fiesta made a global debut back in late 2016.
The company invested about 293 million Euros in new production processes at its Cologne plant to build the new Fiesta. According to Ford, a new Fiesta will roll off the line every 68 seconds.
Unlike its predecessor, the new Fiesta will arrive in four flavours, a sporty ST-Line, sophisticated Vignale and Titanium, Fiesta Active Crossover and a Fiesta ST. The latter is expected to debut next year.
“We have taken this iconic small car’s lovable, fun and sporty-to-drive character to the next level, with a greater choice of models than ever and with advanced technologies and features that small-car customers could only have dreamed of just a few years ago,” said Jim Farley, executive vice president and president, Europe Middle East and Africa, Ford Motor Company.
Ford did not say when the new Fiesta will be introduced here, but looking at the previous Fiesta and Focus, these models arrived here two years after their global debut, hinting at a possible 2018 debut.
