For instance, Nissan has the GT-R, Toyota has its Supra, Mazda has the RX-7, Subaru has the Impreza, and Mitsubishi has the Lancer Evolution. And even among these epic models, there were a few rare variants that are so limited and hard to come by that you should consider yourself lucky if you bump into one - such as the car you’re looking at now – the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 Wagon. As the name suggests, this is the wagon version of the high-performance Evo 9 sedan. What makes this model a big deal is that it was the first-ever Evo wagon since the ‘Evolution’ moniker was born back in 1992.According to Mitsubishi, the wagon version was added to the lineup in order to appeal to drivers who grew up with Evolutions but have evolved into family men. With only 2,500 units produced in 2005, the Evo 9 wagon was not meant for export out of Japan in the beginning. But fortunately, some well-kept units such as the one you’re looking at now managed to make it out of the land of the rising sun. That said, it is only right that this super rare Evolution 9 Wagon on sale on Carlist.my makes it to our ‘Pick of the Week’ list.Priced at RM95,000, this Evo 9 Wagon is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged 16-valve 4-cylinder engine capable of producing 280hp at 6,500rpm. In case you’re wondering how quick this thing is, it can sprint from standstill to 100km/h somewhere between 4.8- and 5.5-seconds.According to the current owner, the car still uses many genuine Evo 9 parts which are easily accessible. It is said that only some of the parts have been changed but most of the components remain original, such as the OEM Recaro seats, OEM Momo steering wheel, and the original Evo 9 OEM rims.Among the few parts that have been added include a Pioneer double din DVD receiver with roof monitor, as well as a subwoofer and an amplifier. That said, this is a wagon like no other and will please both family men and the driver hiding in them. ✕ Let's Connect on Whatsapp We protect your personal information in compliance with the PDPA I agree with Carlist.my Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
