Perodua has handed four units of the Axia to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) to be used as community patrol vehicles.

Out of the four Axias, one will be used by the Brickfields Police Station, while one unit will be used by the TTDI Police station. The remaining two units on the other hand, will be utilised by AMANITA; a special taskforce created by PDRM to assist women fight crime.

According to Perodua, this is the first time for the Axia model to be used by PDRM. With the addition of the four units, PDRM has a total of over 670 Peroduas in its fleet nationwide.

The cars were handed over by Dr Zahari Husin, managing director of Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd to the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.

“The four units are the first under the Perodua Axia model to be used by the police force in their efforts to keep communities safe,”

“We hope that our contribution, which we wish to call ‘community patrol cars’ will assist our dedicated police officers while on duty,” said Perodua’s President and CEO Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh.

“The Perodua Axia is Malaysia’s first Energy Efficient Vehicle with a fuel consumption of 21.6km/litre, and it is an ideal patrol car as it is made for easy driving, handling and manoeuvring in high traffic areas,” Aminar said.
