Off-Road Thrills With The Ford Lanun Darat 2015 Adventure
Auto NewsIt was a fun rugged weekend for some Ford owners and enthusiasts during the Ford Lanun Darat 2015 adventure in Sabah, which was aimed to emphasize its Ranger’s breadth of ability off-road.
Organized by Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) - Ford’s local distributor in Malaysia – and held over the course of the 7th and 8th of February, the convoy comprised of 24 Ford Rangers from the base XL variant to the high-end Wildtrak and the new 3.2L XLT Hi-Rider - a Ford Everest couldn’t miss the fun and tagged along as well.
“Lanun Darat is one of the many programmes organised for us to reach out to our customers and equip them with the necessary driving skills to make the most of their vehicles,” said Lee Eu San, managing director, Sime Darby Auto Connexion.
2015’s Lanun Darat adventure began at the SDAC showroom in Kota Kinabalu before promptly moving out to the rough terrain of Tamparuli. The first practical off-road session took place under the guidance of veteran safety instructor Paul Si on proper off-road techniques before heading to the Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort once the day was up.
On day two the adventure team headed to Sepanggar for another off-road session before making their way back to the Kota Kinabalu showroom; muddied and proud of it.
