Next Generation Volkswagen Golf To Feature 48V Mild Hybrid System

Volkswagen has announced that the next generation Golf will feature a lineup of new powertrains, including a 48V mild hybrid system.

One of the key powertrain of the next generation Golf is its new 48V mild hybrid system. By pairing the mild hybrid system to the new Golf, Volkswagen aims to make hybrid systems affordable to the buyers. 

This new 48V mild hybrid system offers improved fuel economy and reduced emissions, while offering electric boost feature that improves the driving performance. 

No further details were revealed about the new hybrid powertrain, which is not expected to hit European markets until late-2020.

The Wolfsburg-based company added that the new Golf will be the starting point of its electrification program and will be gradually extended to the entire lineup.

Elsewhere, Volkswagen has also premiered its new 1.5 TGI Evo natural gas engine and 2.0 TDI turbodiesel engine.
