The plug-in hybrid system of the new BMW X1 xDrive 25e consists of a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo and an electric drive system specially developed for the X1 model, based on the eDrive modular system of the BMW Group. The petrol engine develops 125 hp and a maximum torque of 220 Nm. It transfers its power to a 6-speed Steptronic transmission which drives the front wheels. The electric motor, on the other hand, generates a peak output of 95 hp and 165 Nm of torque to the rear wheels via a single-speed transmission. Combined power output is rated at 220 hp and a maximum system torque of 385 Nm. The new BMW X1 25e is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.0 seconds all the way to a top speed of 192 km/h. Top speed in electric mode is 135 km/h. The motor is powered by a lithium-ion battery has a gross energy content of 9.7 kWh. This allows for an electrically powered range of up to 57 km with a full charge. The battery can be fully charged at conventional household sockets using the standard-equipment charging cable. The battery can be fully charged in around five hours in this way. Using a BMW i Wallbox charger, the charging operation takes less than 3.6 hours. The charging socket is located under a separate flap on the front left side wall of the car. In addition to the Eco Pro, Comfort, and Sport driving modes (also found on non-hybrid models), the X1 25e is given an additional three modes - Auto eDrive which optimises the interaction of both drive systems, Max eDrive mode is activated for maximum use of the electric drive, and lastly Save, to maintain the charging state of the battery while driving or to increase it by means of recuperation. The new BMW X1 25e also features the company’s acoustic pedestrian protection– which works by emitting a sound to alert other road users when driving electrically at speeds of up to 30 km/h. The BMW X1 25e carried all the aesthetic updates of the facelifted F48 LCI model, and can also be specified with BMW’s Sport Line, xLine, and M Sport trim packages, depending on the market. ✕ Let's Connect on Whatsapp We protect your personal information in compliance with the PDPA I agree with Carlist.my Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
