Home News Auto News New 2019 Proton Persona Details Revealed – To Be Launched Together With Iriz This Month New 2019 Proton Persona Details Revealed – To Be Launched Together With Iriz This Month Auto News Gokul | March 13, 2019 09:14 am Proton today revealed all the details about the new Persona except for the price, which will be announced when the car is launched alongside the new Iriz later this month.There will be four variants:Persona Standard 1.6L ManualPersona Standard 1.6L CVTPersona Executive 1.6L CVTPersona Premium 1.6L CVTOnly one engine will be powering the entire Persona range, which is a 1.6-litre VVT mill (109 PS / 150 Nm), which is paired to either a CVT or a 5-speed manual gearbox.Featuring a few new cosmetic features, new gadgetry, as well as new safety features, the new Persona will be launched together with the new Iriz which was previewed a couple of weeks ago, within the next couple of months.On the exterior, the Persona has been updated with a fresh front fascia which comprises an 'Ethereal Bow' grille which looks similar to the one on the X70 SUV, new LED DRLs, a new rear bumper, a new rear spoiler, as well as automatic headlights.The Proton logo in the middle of the car’s rear has also been removed, replaced by ‘Proton’ lettering which runs across the back right above the number plate.According to Proton, the cosmetic updates were added to give the car a neater, family friendly, and more proportionate look.Inside, the dashboard continues to feature a two-tone colour split, and now taking centre stage is the Geely Smart Ecosystem (GKUI) 7-inch infotainment head unit similar to the X70’s, with the “Hi Proton” voice command system, 4G and Wi-Fi connectivity, Online music streaming, Online navigation, Over-The-Air Update, a reverse camera with Dynamic Line, and Parking Aid Display.The infotainment system makes the Persona the first car in its segment to come with a built-in SIM card.Having said that, the list of standard features (Standard 1.6L MT/ Standard 1.6L CVT) include:Dual airbagsFront parking sensorsABS/EBD/BA/ESC/TCSHill-Hold Assist15-inch wheels510-litre boot space2 speakers3 USB portsEco Drive AssistShark Fin Antenna (new)Fabric seatsTricot Headlining (new)LCD Segmented Multi-Info Display (new)New gear lever The Executive 1.6L CVT variant gets additional features such as:7-inch touch screen monitor (new)Semi-leather seats (new)4 speakersPush Start ButtonIntelligent EntrySteering Wheel SwitchesTFT Multi-Info display (new)LED DRLs (new)Remote Trunk ReleaseReverse Camera with Dynamic Line (new)Smartphone connectivity (new)The range-topping Persona Premium 1.6L CVT gets even more goodies like:4G & Wi-Fi Connectivity (new)Voice command (new)Online navigation (new)Online Music Streaming (new)6 airbagsAuto headlamp (new)Leather steering wheelBorderless Rear View Mirror (new)Besides the active safety features mentioned above, passive safety features on the new Persona includes:Up to 6 airbagsDual Pre-tensioner seatbeltsHot Press Forming Body StructureImpact Sensing Door Unlock systemISOFIX and Top Tether AnchorageProton also shared the new Persona’s estimated 5-year service cost of RM3,051, which is basically the service cost for the first five years.
