MINI Urbanite and Amplified Limited Edition Models Launched In Malaysia – RM198,888 and RM248,888

MINI Malaysia today introduced two new limited edition models in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year festivities:

• MINI Urbanite Edition:                   RM 198,888
• MINI Amplified Edition:                  RM 248,888

While the MINI Urbanite Edition is based on the Cooper 5 Door, the MINI Amplified Edition is based on the Cooper S 3 Door.

On the MINI Urbanite Edition, key exterior features include an additional pair of LED headlights inspired by the classic Minis in the Monte Carlo Rally, 16” Victory Spoke Rims with Piano Black light trims and grille, as well as racing stripes on the bonnet and along the body.

Inside, the John Cooper Works Colour Line’s Glowing Red theme is carried over, complemented by an Anthracite Headliner with an ‘Urbanite’ badge.

On top of the MINI Connected standard feature with Bluetooth and USB, the Urbanite comes a new Rear-View Camera system with parking guidance lines and obstacle marking that detects and marks stationary objects.

Power is supplied by a 1.5 litre turbocharged three-cylinder producing 136 hp and 220 Nm of torque, paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. Thanks to the powertrain package, the MINI Urbanite is capable of sprinting from zero to hundred in 8.1 seconds and will hit a top speed of 207 km/h.

Two colour themes are available for the MINI Urbanite Edition - Midnight Black with Red Racing Stripes, and Blazing Red or Pepper White with Black Racing Stripes.

Moving on to the MINI Amplified Edition, visual highlights include the John Cooper Works Aerodynamic Kit, a rear spoiler, new Piano Black grille and matching headlight and taillight trim, racing stripes, as well as 17” JCW wheels.  

Inside, the MINI Amplified comes with JCW racing seats with integrated headrests designed in Alcantara leather with contrasting ‘Red Dinamica’ colour, an Anthracite headliner with Glowing Red accents which was only available on the John Cooper Works model previously, contrasting stitching on the gear lever, JCW perforated leather steering wheel embroidery, comfort access, and black chequered interior trims.

Under the hood of the MINI Amplified is a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine which produces 211 hp and 300 Nm of torque. The car also comes with John Cooper Works Tuning Kit and the new John Cooper Works Valve Silence System.

Capable of doing the century sprint in 6.7 seconds with a top speed of 233 km/h, the MINI Amplified also features a new Track mode which can be activated via the John Cooper Works Bluetooth Remote Control.

Besides all of the above, standard features on both cars include Rear View Camera, LED headlight with daytime driving lights, LED taillights, rain sensors, Park Distance Control, automatic dual zone air conditioning, 12 colour ambient lighting, hi-res 6.5” MINI Visual Boost with 5 key controller, automatic start / stop with Keyless Go, Spotify integration, cruise control with braking function.

Covered by MINI Malaysia’s 5 Years Roadside Assistance programme, both limited edition models will be at all authorised MINI showrooms nationwide from today.
