Daimler AG is using the term "hydrolocked", although from past experience the entire engine usually needs to be replaced in the event of a hydrolock. The part in question is the starter motor, which may begin to overheat as the starter current limiter no longer operates.Of course, this only happens if a driver continuously tries to start the car after it has been hydrolocked and doesnt seem to pose a threat in regular operation. In any case, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is aware of the recall operations in other countries and will be prepared if the recall affects Malaysian units as well. As a general rule of thumb, if your car dies after going through a flood you should not try to start it. Forcing it to start with water inside will potentially bend and break many, many things in the engine and could turn a relatively small repair job into an entire engine replacement. ✕ Let's Connect on Whatsapp We protect your personal information in compliance with the PDPA I agree with Carlist.my Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
