Mercedes-Benz GLC Launched In Thailand, Coming To Malaysia In 2016
Auto NewsNot too long after its ASEAN-debut at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show in Jakarta in August, the Mercedes-Benz has launched five-seater GLC SUV in Thailand.
Sitting above the A-Class-based GLA-Class, the C-Class-based GLC-Class will be sold in Thailand in two variants – the GLC 250d Off Road (3.79 million Baht) and GLC 250d AMG Dynamics (4.09 million Baht).
There are no petrol-powered variants of the GLC on sale in Thailand, at least not for now.
The GLC 250d is powered by a 204hp 2.1-litre diesel-turbo engine, paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission with 4-MATIC all-wheel drive.
Globally, the GLC-Class range include the GLC 220d 4MATIC, GLC 250d 4MATIC, GLC 250 4-MATIC, and GLC 350 e 4-MATIC plug-in hybrid.
Will the GLC-Class be launched in Malaysia?
The GLC-Class is almost certainly coming to Malaysia, with a diesel-powered engine too.
Speaking during the company’s Q3 2015 business review earlier today, Mr. Mark Raine, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Malaysia announced that the company is looking to expand its portfolio of diesel-powered vehicles in the near future, and it will cover both passenger cars and SUVs.
He also hinted that the GLC-Class will be making its debut in Malaysia soon, and even played a video commercial of Mercedes-Benz SUVs during his presentation.
