Mercedes-Benz C300e Previewed – 320 hp, 0-100 in 5.4 Seconds, Electric Range Up To 50 km

Just two days after going on sale in Thailand, the Mercedes-Benz C300e has been revealed in Malaysia alongside two other electrified models, the S560e as well as the EQC.

In case you’re wondering how much the C300e is going to cost, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has not given any price indication yet, and said that this is a “technological showcase”.  

Anyways, here to take on the BMW 330e, the C300e is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 211 hp and 350 Nm of torque.

The petrol engine works in sync with a 90 kW (122 hp) electric motor to give a combined system output of 320 hp from 4,500 – 5,500 rpm, as well 700 Nm of maximum torque. Paired to the engine is a 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic gearbox.

Able to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds, and achieve a top speed of 250 km/h, the C 300 e has an all-electric driving range of up to 52 km.

Compared to the outgoing C350e, the C300e makes 41 hp and 100 Nm more, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h 0.5 seconds faster, and also comes with a longer all-electric driving range of up to 52 km compared to the C350e’s 31 km.   

The C300e’s 13.5 kWh can be charged fully in 6 hours using a domestic home charger, or slightly less than 2 hours using a wallbox charger.

Offered with the AMG Line exterior package, key features of the C300e include 19-inch AMG five-twin-spoke alloy wheels, Multibeam LED headlights, and also an electronically-operated panoramic sliding sunroof.

Inside, the car is fitted with leather upholstery with a pre-installed memory seat package, open-pore black ash wood trim, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster display, and a 10.25-inch central display.

Other equipment offered in the C 300 e includes Dynamic Body Control, the Pre-Safe system, Active Brake Assist, as well as the Keyless-Go package among others.
