Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, Now In Malaysia From RM 1.1 million
Auto NewsLove the AMG GT coupe but wished it was a bit more usable? Well Mercedes-Benz has done to the AMG GT what Porsche did to the 911 with the Panamera, and what you see here is the end result.
The AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is now available in Malaysia. Three variants are available:
- GT 43 4Matic+ (367 hp/500 Nm): RM 1,098,888
- GT 53 4Matic+ (435 hp/520 Nm): RM 1,298,888
- GT 63S 4Matic+ (639 hp/900 Nm): RM 1,798,888
The most powerful 63S variant is powered by the same 4.0-litre biturbo V8 as the AMG GT, paired to a 9-speed multi-clutch AMG Speedshift transmission driving all four wheels.
The lower range 53 variant uses a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder while the 43 uses a V6 of similar capacity.
Although the four-door coupe variant’s front-end looks very similar to the AMG GT two-door coupe, there are no interchangeable body panels between the two. The four-door AMG GT coupe's rides on the same platform as the CLS and its chassis has no relation to the AMG GT, in the same way a Porsche Panamera has no relation to the 911, despite being styled to look like a stretched four-door version
The model can be ordered as either a five- or four-seater, with the former adopting regular folding bench seats while the latter configuration comes with an option of two individual seat types – a standard individual seat and a ‘High Class Rear Seats’ package that adds a touchscreen on the rear-centre console. The screen allows rear occupants to control ambient lighting and air-conditioning.
Behind, the boot has a 395-litre capacity, with an additional 60 litres available beneath the boot floor. On the five-seater variants, the rear seat folds to increase boot capacity to 1,324 litres.
With this being a more comfort-biased model when compared to the two-door GT model, all the driving assistance function options available in the S-Class are also available in the GT 4-Door Coupe.
