Maserati Levante SUV Previewed in Malaysia

Naza Italia S.B., official importer and distributor of Maserati vehicles in Malaysia today previewed the Maserati Levante SUV. The first SUV in the company’s 102-year history, touches down in Malaysia as the first stop in South East Asia.

We must stress that this is the preview, i.e. very little is known about the specifications and variants that will be offered to Malaysian consumers. The price range, according to one source, is estimated to be within the RM600,00 to RM800,000 range. Naza Italia however, have opened their order books for the new car.

The price range though, does suggests that the petrol powered variants will be made available – namely the Levante and Levante S. The two share the (F160) 3.0-litre V6 Twin-turbocharged engine outputting 350bhp and 500Nm in the Levante, and 430bhp and 580Nm in Levante S guise. The engine is also found on Maserati’s luxury-sedan the Ghibli.

All versions come with an eight-speed gearbox, utilising Maserati’s Q4 AWD replete with torque vectoring optimised for on and off-road driving.

A plethora of customisation options for the exterior and interior are available as you might expect – including the top of the line Zegna interior. For the Levante; Ermenegildo Zegna partnered with Maserati to create a bespoke leather interior featuring natural fibre Zegna Mulberry Silk inserts on the seats, door panels, roof lining, sunshades and ceiling light fixture. The Silk is embellished with a hand-stitched macro chevron. Seating features a central silk insert with a micro chevron weave. Door panels, roof lining and sunshades are covered with Zegna silk jersey.
