Lynk & Co 03 Launched, Racing Version Set To Debut At 2019 WTCR

Lynk & Co’s first-ever sedan was recently introduced at the Fuji Speedway in Japan. It's the first sedan to be introduced by Lynk & Co, a joint-venture between Geely Auto Group and Volvo Car Group.  

Like the 01 and 02 SUV models, the new 03 sedan is built on Geely’s CMA platform. Power is derived from a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), a similar configuration seen in recent Geely models, including the Binyue and Binrui. The other transmission option is a 6-speed manual, exclusive to the entry-level Lite variant.

According to Lynk & Co, the engine can be had in two states of tune. The entry-level Lite variants get 156 PS and 245 Nm, while every other variant gets 180 PS and 265 Nm.

The more powerful variant completes the century sprint in just 7.9 seconds, similar figures to the Geely Binyue.

The equipment list is also rather exhaustive, as the 03 can be had with these equipment, including:

• Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)

• Built-in digital video recorder
• Qi wireless charging
• Wi-Fi hotspot
• Built-in navigation

Prices start from CNY 116,800 (~RM 70,047) for the base 03 Lite, while the range-topping variant goes for CNY 151,800 (~RM 91,037). China will be the first market to receive the new sedan, and other markets will follow suit over the next couple of months.

In addition to the regular road-going models, Lynk & Co also showcased its racing version, called the Lynk & Co Cyan Racing 03, set to compete in the 2019 FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) championship.
