Koenigsegg One:1 Destroys 0-300-0 KM/H World Record

The Koenigsegg One:1 has set a new world record with a 0-300-0 km/h run that took them just 17.95 seconds!

With the new time set, it eclipses the previous run it did in the Koenigsegg Agera R back in September 2011 (21.19 seconds) by a full 3.24 seconds. Of course, this is unofficial at the moment as Guinness World Record official representatives weren't present at the practice session to officially authenticate the Vbox data Koenigsegg recorded.

Data from the VBox recorder are as follows:

• 0-300 kmh: 11.922 seconds
• 300-0 kmh: 6.032 seconds
• 0-300-0 kmh: 17.95 seconds

Koenigsegg say that the new record was set during a practice session at its test track in Ängelholm, Sweden on June 8 2015, from 6pm to 10pm. The man behind the wheel during the session was the Robert Serwanski who displays absolute faith to the One:1’s stability along with massive bal.., er, courage by taking his hands off the wheel at 300 km/h!

As this was a ‘mere’ practice session and they weren’t really gunning for the record at the time, Koenigsegg say that should they piece together the fastest individual acceleration and deceleration stages from the day, the theoretical 0-300-0 km/h time would be an even more impressive 17.49 seconds.

They’ve also added that the One:1 development car used was 50kg heavier than customer cars due to the roll cage fitted to protect their test driver beyond what are perceived to be ‘normal’ limits. In the future, the car maker reckons an even lower time is a distinct possibility and will do their best to schedule another session. Joy.

The Koenigsegg One:1 gets its name from the 5.0-litre twin-turbo V which produces 1,340hp to propel about same amount of weight that gives it a one horsepower to one kilogram power-to-weight ratio.

There are supercars and hypercars but the Koenigsegg One:1 is truly a megacar.
