Home News Auto News Hyundai Ioniq Facelift Introduced – Smartsense Active Safety As Standard Hyundai Ioniq Facelift Introduced – Smartsense Active Safety As Standard Auto News Arvind | January 22, 2019 11:09 pm Hyundai Motors has released the first images along with details of the facelifted Hyundai Ioniq – in particular, the Ioniq Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid variants, with an updated full-electric variant to follow soon.In addition to cosmetic changes, the new Ioniq receives additional active safety technologies as standard, and updated infotainment systems.All Ioniq variants will be equipped Hyundai SmartSense technology which now includes Front Collision Warning and Avoidance (FCA and FCW), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), forward vehicle departure, and highway driving assistant (HDA).The new Ioniq is equipped with the world’s first ‘Green-zone Drive Mode (GDM)’ which automatically switches the vehicle’s driving module in designated areas to use more energy from the electric motor, rather than from the internal combustion engine.The drivetrain has also been adapted for 1-pedal driving capability (similar to the Nissan Leaf), Smart Regenerative Braking, Utility Mode (allows onboard functions even while the vehicle is switched off), and Eco+ Mode for extending remaining energy during emergency situations.On the inside, the biggest change is the fitment of the (optional) 10.25-inch infotainment screen featuring voice recognition software and over-the-air updates.
