Hot Subaru Forester tS Is Not Your Typical SUV, 300 Units Only

After showing us a concept and several teasers, Subaru has finally unveiled the new Forester tS. Like the BRZ tS, the STI-enhanced Forester is exclusive for the Japanese market only. Bear in mind that this is not a full-fledged STI model like the WRX STI, but rather a regular production Subaru model that has been made better with the tuning division’s off-the-shelf parts. Under the hood is a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder Boxer engine that develops 276hp and 350Nm of torque, paired to a Lineatronic CVT automatic transmission that sends the force to all four wheels. The handling department is beefed up with 17-inch Brembo-sourced disc brakes all-around, a STI tuned suspension setup that lowers the ride height by 15mm, a transmission cooler along with 19-inch BBS alloy wheels. Elsewhere, the ECU and TCU (transmission control unit) have also been recalibrated to complement the sporty nature of the Forester tS. Exterior wise, there is a black grille with signature STI cherry red highlights, more aggressive front and rear bumpers, side mirror covers and a roof spoiler that are finished in black. Aside from that, the fast kid hauler also features various STI emblems to remind you that it is something special. Upgrades on the inside include a STI-specific gauge cluster that goes all the up to 260km/h, new leather wrapped steering wheel, exclusive black leather and suede seats, red highlight stitching as well as a STI shift lever.
