Owners of affected vehicles have been urged by the respective car companies to get the faulty airbag inflators replaced, as even a low speed collision can trigger the faulty airbags. For Honda owners, Honda Malaysia has been reminding owners to send their vehicles in for the Takata airbag replacement, and the completion ratio is currently at 79% or 465,000 units. Owners do not need to pay for the Takata airbag replacement and stock availability is currently at 100% for both the driver and passenger front airbag inflators. Owners of these affected vehicles can also get their airbag inflators replaced at Honda Mobile Hubs at selected shopping malls, Honda roadshows, and selected Petronas stations. No appointments are required for these locations. Check Honda Malaysia’s official webpage here with your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to see if your Honda model is affected by this recall. Owners of affected Honda models living near Setia Alam are encouraged to visit the Carlist.my DRIVE event this weekend to get their faulty airbags replaced. Apart from Honda, models from Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, and BMW are also affected.
