Honda City RS i-MMD Gets Honda Sensing

Auto News

Safety features are growing ever more advanced, and the all-new Honda City RS i-MMD will receive the Honda Sensing package in line with other Honda models locally.

Safety for Everyone - it’s one of Honda’s objectives when it comes to achieving a collision-free mobile society, and as is the case for many automakers one of the strategies involved is active safety systems. Honda’s own brand of active safety is known as Honda Sensing, and it has been available in a number of their models for a year or two.

Their entry level model is also going to receive that same system which brings it in line with the rest of the lineup. The Honda City RS i-MMD has been an extremely hot topic, and the addition of these safety systems is definitely going to sweeten the deal for potential buyers. The system in the City in particular comes with:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Collision Mitigation Braking System
  • Forward Collision Warning
  • Lane Keeping Assist System
  • Road Departure Mitigation
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Auto High-Beam

Some of these features aren’t uncommon among other vehicles in the market – at least around the price range, but the Adaptive Cruise Control functionality is definitely something that adds class and sophistication to this entry-level sedan. This, along with features like Remote Engine Start and Honda LaneWatch will make you feel like you’re driving a much more expensive vehicle.

For the time being, it seems that Honda Sensing is only available with the RS variant of the City, but in the future or with a facelift it could also expand to include the more vanilla 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC variants. Booking for the All-New City opened on the 14th of August 2020, and customers will receive an RM 1,000 service voucher if they enter the Special Early Booking Programme. The car will be making its rounds during the ongoing nationwide tour, where the all-new City will be popping up at all 101 authorized dealerships around the country.
