Geneva 2018: All-New Peugeot 508 First Edition - Limited To 12 Euro Markets

Ahead of its first public appearance at the upcoming 2018 Geneva International Motor Show, Peugeot has announced the Peugeot 508 First Edition, a limited volume, "early-bird" model that is offered to just 12 selected European markets, with first deliveries starting in October 2018.

First Edition models are equipped with the GT Line trim, and is offered in only two colours: Dark Blue and Ultimate Red. Along the flanks, the First Editions are equipped with 19-inch Augusta alloys with hubcaps in two diamond-set hues and a Grey Dust coating.

Aside from the exterior features, First Edition models will be equipped with Zebrano-type wood highlights, Alcantara trimmings and black leather upholstery with copper stitching lines. The steering wheel is wrapped in perforated full-grain leather.

Elsewhere in the cabin, a black roof liner, Full-LED ambient lighting,  aluminium pedals and door sills marked with First Edition, are also added on.

All First Edition models will be offered with either the 1.6-litre turbocharged ‘PureTech’ petrol engine which outputs 225 hp, or the 2.0-litre turbodiesel ‘Blue HDi’ which delivers 180 hp. In both cases, the engine will be mated to the EAT8, eight-speed automatic transmission, co-developed with transmission specialist Aisin.

The all-new Peugeot 508 is underpinned by the company’s EMP2 platform, which achieves a weight reduction of 70 kg on average, compared to the previous model.

Peugeot has also employed a new body-welding technique which is strengthened with a structural adhesive, to provide greater body rigidity and acoustic insulation.

As reported during the world-premiere of the Peugeot 508, the cabin will feature the latest i-Cockpit architecture which features an installable head-height digital panel and a 10-inch HD capacitive touchscreen. The all-new Peugeot 508 also boasts Night Vision camera technology, a first for the segment, which detects living beings, within a 200-250 meter range in front of the vehicle in low-visibility conditions.

Peugeot 508 First Editions will also be equipped a premium sound system, featuring ten loudspeakers, which Peugeot developed with Focal. Upon order confirmation, all First Edition customers will receive a set of Focal Hi-Fi premium earphones, delivered to their residence.
