Geneva 2017: Mercedes-AMG to Celebrate 50th Anniversary with 3 Unique Models

Mercedes-Benz’s performance division is turning 50 this year, and what better way to celebrate the big occasion than by releasing three sexy special models, right?

All set to make their big debut at the Geneva motor show, the three models are:

• Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster Edition 50

• C63 S Cabriolet Ocean Blue Edition

• C43 4Matic Cabriolet Night Edition

According to the folks at Stuttgart, all of the models above will feature unique colour and trim combinations along with individual design touches and an extended range of standard equipment over their standard siblings.

As for the rear-wheel drive GT C Roadster Edition 50, it is said that the car will only be produced in a limited run of 500 units.

The roadster is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine which delivers 549bhp, and can be ordered in either grey magno or design cashmere white finish. The car’s new soft top also receives darkened chromed exterior elements, alongside darkened forged alloy wheels.

Inside, the car sports a combination of black and silver leather for the seats and centre console together with touches from AMG’s existing Interior Night Package, with the steering wheel spokes, shift paddles and door sill panels in black.

The contrasting colour theme is continued with silver seat belts and black chrome trim elements.  The head rests are also embossed with the words “GT Edition 50”.

And then we have the C63 S Cabriolet Ocean Blue Edition, which is even more exclusive than the roadster, as AMG has announced that the model’s production number will not even go past 150 units.

Under the hood, it gets the C63’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 with either 460bhp or 503bhp, blue accents on the front bumper, wheel caps, and also within the rear diffuser.

Last but not least, the four-wheel drive C43 4Matic Cabriolet Night Edition gets a number of unique exterior elements such as a black diamond themed grille, black trim on the front splitter, side sills and rear valence panel, as well as matt black 19-inch alloy wheels with high-gloss rim flanges.

Powering it is none other than AMG’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine producing 362bhp.

That being said, order-taking is expected to begin in two weeks in Europe, with first deliveries expected to be taking place by the third quarter of the year.
