Geely Releases More FY11 Details: 235 hp, 350 Nm, 2019 Debut
Auto NewsEarlier this month, Geely dropped several teaser photos of its first-ever coupe SUV model, codenamed FY11.
According to Geely, the FY11 will be launched later in 2019 and will be the company’s first model to ride on the CMA platform that was co-developed with Volvo. The CMA platform also underpins the Volvo XC40 and all Lynk & Co models.
As mentioned in our previous post, the FY11 draws its inspiration from the BMW X6, featuring a sloping roofline for that sporty fastback design. Geely further cemented that fact by stating that the FY11 will have ‘true sporting credentials’.
This time around, Geely mentioned that the FY11 will be equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine from Volvo’s Drive-E family of engines. For the FY11, the engine outputs 235 hp and 350 Nm, with power sent to either the front- or all four wheels.
Similar to its stablemates, the FY11 features the signature ‘expanding cosmos’ front grille, flanked by a pair of headlights with newly-designed LED daytime running lights. A short video released by Geely also showcased the FY11's adaptive LED headlights and sequential LED turn signals at the rear.
In addition to that, the FY11 will bear Geely’s unique all-black logo which symbolizes Geely’s unique range of vehicles, such as sportier models.
Last but not least, photos released by Autohome gave us a list of possible names that Geely could use on the FY11 - 锋越 (Fengyue), 皓越 (Yuyue), 朗越 (Longyue), 智越 (Zhiyue), 歌越 (Geyue), 劲越 (Jinyue), and 星越 (Xingyue).
