Fully Cashless Seremban-Port Dickson Highway Starts Monday, June 1

Auto News

From June 1, all transactions along the tolls of the Seremban-Port Dickson Highway (SPDH) – Mambau and Lukut – will be conducted through electronic payments starting 12pm on that day.

As we have covered before in more detail, this is part of PLUS’s ongoing initiative to phase out cash payments along Malaysian tolls in favour of the more cost effective and efficient cashless contact payments, such as Touch n’ Go or PLUSMiles cards, and even the remote payment system SmartTAG.

Road users might bemoan the lack of a ‘Tunai’ lane going forward, but in the long run this move will lead to much reduced congestion at toll plazas. SmartTAG and Touch n’ Go lanes can far outpace cash lanes, with 1000 per hour (SmartTAG) and 550 per hour (Touch n’ Go), compared to only 220 transactions per hour on cash lanes.

To ease the transition, PLUS Malaysia Berhad Managing Director, Dato’ Noorizah Hj Abd Hamid said “Highway users can also purchase preloaded RM5 PLUSMiles Touch ‘n Go cards at a promotional rate of RM5 (card is free) at the toll lanes at Mambau and Lukut Toll Plazas (Both Bounds), as well as at Customer Service Centres at Seremban and Senawang Toll Plazas”.

Also, road users who want to go the SmartTAG route can purchase it at a promotional rate of RM96.00 at all Customer Service Centers at Seremban and Senawang Toll Plazas, while stocks last. There are also promotional rates for those using cashless payment methods at these tolls from June 1st and September 30th, we have the all the details in our previous post
