Auto News Adam Aubrey | February 21, 2023 04:39 pm Transport Minister Anthony Loke is trying his hardest to get everyone to use public transport and has even provided visitors of the parliament with a free shuttle service. The ever-busy transport minister dropped another interesting piece of news this week, announcing that a free shuttle bus service from KL Sentral to the Parliament building is now in service. Through his official Facebook page, he said the free shuttle service is available to all members of parliament, officers as well as media practitioners. The bus will operate from 8 am till the close of daily sittings and that the T851 service will have a travel frequency of every 30 minutes during peak hours and every hour at other times. "I was informed that every day an average of 2,000 vehicles enter parliament in session. However, only less than 500 parking spaces are available." "There are complaints that they have to queue for up to an hour in the car. I understand that this congestion will affect the quality of life, especially for members of parliament or the media who have to work until the night." "So the Ministry of Transport, together with Rapid KL is providing a bus service to encourage the use of public transport and introduce a "last mile connection" from KL Sentral to Parliament." No doubt, members of the media and duty officers will benefit the most from this new service, but it would be great to see members of parliament also utilising this public transport service, as it can free up police outriders, so they can get on with other things. ✕ Let's Connect on Whatsapp We protect your personal information in compliance with the PDPA I agree with Carlist.my Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
