Frankfurt 2017: Up close With The Volkswagen Arteon

First unveiled at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, the Volkswagen Arteon, which is here to succeed the CC, is already on sale in some parts of the world.

And since it was shown in its full glory at Volkswagen’s booth at the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show, we couldn't help it but get a closer look at what it has to offer. 

Dubbed as one of the best looking Volkswagen coupe sedans in recent times, the Arteon is the brand’s new flagship model, sitting above the Passat in the current portfolio.

Offered with a range of engines including a 280PS 2.0 TSI petrol engine, 150PS 1.5 TSI petrol engine, and two 2.0 TDI diesel engines producing 240PS and 150PS respectively, power in all versions are delivered to either the front wheels or all four (4Motion variant) via either a seven-speed DSG dual clutch gearbox or a six-speed manual.

Capable of sprinting from naught to 100 in 5.4 seconds, the Arteon comes with many driver assistance features like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with predictive cruise control; City Emergency Braking; Front Assist; Speed Assist; Traffic Jam Assist; Lane Assist and Driver Alert fatigue warning system.

Meanwhile, the list of standard features include the latest Discover Navigation system with eight-inch colour touchscreen, eight-speaker sound system, Bluetooth audio, Volkswagen Media Control, a 12.3 inch Active Info Display, 18-inch alloy wheels, as well as LED self-levelling headlights.

But that is not all, as there is the Plush Nappa leather upholstery, Car-Net connectivity with ‘Guide & Inform’, ‘Security & Service’ and ‘App-Connect’ functionality as well as Air Care Climatronic 3Zone electronic air conditioning with automatic air recirculation complete the impressive interior tech.
