Frankfurt 2017: Kia Proceed Concept – One For The Wagon Lovers

Auto News

A good thing about big motor shows is that there is something for everyone, and while it is almost guaranteed to see new supercars, sedans, and especially concepts, fans of wagons don’t really get to see new offerings as often as the rest.

But that isn’t the case this year, as the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show saw Kia revealing something that will tickle wagon fans in the right places – the Proceed Concept.

Featuring a low, rakish roofline, 20-inch wheels, the brand’s signature Tiger Nose grille, large, angular air intakes, as well as an illuminated glass roof, the Proceed looks like a more flashy, wagon version of the Stinger sedan.

Other exterior highlights include a Sharkblade C-pillar, four-point LED lights, a GT logo in the rear, and the Lava Red paint which according to Kia combines 19-layers of paint, chrome, and lacquer.

The interior is filled with four split-back seats which are covered by over 100 meters of rippled black fabric, a virtual cockpit, a large display on the dashboard, and chromed Jaguar-ish rotary dials on the centre console. According to Kia, the car even offers a few types of fragrances for the occupants to choose from in the cabin.

Technical details are yet to arrive but rumour has it that the Proceed Concept could preview the next generation Cee'd and Pro_cee'd.
