Frankfurt 2015: BMW Reveals M6 Coupe Competition Edition

BMW made another M6-related announcement at its 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show press conference: the M6 Competition Edition - available exclusively for the M6 Coupe with the Competition Package, adding more power and lighter, more advanced components. 

The 4.4-litre M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine in the M6 Competition Edition produces 600hp and maximum torque of 700Nm, enabling it to reach a top speed of 305km/h.

Two exterior paintwork options are available: an Alpine White or Austin yellow metallic. Should the white option be selected, unique body stripes will be added in the trademark BMW M colours.

The M6 Competition Edition, in either colour, will sport matte-black 20-inch M light-alloy wheels in double-spoke 343 M styling. This motif spreads to the BMW kidney grille, door handles, side gills finished in black chrome and carbon-fibre exterior mirror caps.

Airflow is further optimized and weight saved with the inclusion of a carbon-fibre M rear spoiler and rear diffuser.

Inside, the cabin is dressed in fine-grain Merino full leather in black with white contrast stitching (with the Alpine White exterior colour option) or yellow stitching (on the Austin Yellow exterior colour).

Interior trim strips, gear selector, and the Alcantara-lined M sports steering wheel are also made from carbon fibre. Other standard equipment on the M6 Competition Edition include M multifunction seats, BMW Head-Up Display, and a choice of audio systems by either Harman Kardon or Bang & Olufsen.
