When the engine first made its debut in 2012, it was also won the ‘Best New Engine’ category."The 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine changed the game for small petrol engines and we're proud it remains best in class despite a growing number of competitors. To achieve even greater fuel economy with reduced carbon emissions, the automaker is looking into the implementation of cylinder deactivation for its next revision. With collaboration from the Schaeffler Group, Ford is also working on a dual-mass flywheel for the three-pot.Ford’s 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine is produced in Ford’s European facilities in Germany and Romania, with levels of tune ranging from 100PS, 125PS to 140PS and is now available in 72 countries around the globe.
