F10 BMW 5 Series Is World’s Best-Selling Business Model

Despite its age, the current F10 generation BMW 5 Series continues to lead the premium ‘business segment’ for the sixth year in a row, said the BMW Group.

Launched in 2010, the BMW 5 Series is now the oldest model in its class, with the all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Audi A6 offering a more current alternative.

Still, that hasn’t stopped BMW from delivering more than 347,000 units of the 5 Series to customers worldwide in the last financial year 2015. This compares to 306,000 units of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and 293,675 units of the Audi A6 over the same 12-month period last year.

The numbers include deliveries of the BMW 5 Series Sedan, Touring and Gran Turismo models.

Compared to the previous generation E60 generation 5 Series, sales of the current F10 generation model has risen by more than 42 percent, making it the most successful 5 Series generation to date.

“Since its market launch in 2010, the sixth generation of the BMW 5 Series has been best in class in terms of design, driving dynamics and efficiency. As a result, it has become the most successful BMW 5 Series generation to date, also clearly leading the world’s bestseller lists in the segment for the last six years,” said BMW Group in a press statement released earlier today.
