Extra Trains At The Ready For KL City Grand Prix Weekend

Auto News

The KL City Grand Prix is just a couple of days away now, occupying the capital city’s streets with V8 rumble and the heat of competition from August 7 to 9. Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, says it will do more to help ferry the public to and from the heart of the city.

As we all know, there will be road closures along some major roads. With barriers that make up the circuit walls being fair notice. According to The Sun Daily, Prasarana’s Communications and Media Affairs senior manager Azhar Ghazali said they will provide an injection of trains to cater for travellers during the three days.

He told the daily: "This applies to all three of our rail services, the two LRT networks on the Ampang Line and Kelana Jaya Line, and the KL Monorail. For now, the services will go on as usual as per any other days. But if we see that there is a need, then we will add more train services."

Mohd Ariffin Idris, Rapid Rail Chief Operating Officer assured that, despite the added influx, train congestion will not be a problem.

"We are ready to add more trains to the maximum if there is a need to do so."

Those working around the golden triangle area of Kuala Lumpur during the race event duration are encouraged to consider public transportation, said mayor Datuk Mohd Amin Nordin previously. He then had announced that five major roads would see closure: Jalan Ampang, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Perak, and Jalan P. Ramlee.
