Detroit 2017: Volkswagen To Present Seven-seater Tiguan Allspace

The all-new Tiguan is already on sale in Europe and is currently only available as a five-seater. Next year, the Tiguan’s model range will be expanded to include a longer wheelbase 7-seater variant called the Tiguan Allspace.

To be premiered at the coming North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January, the Tiguan Allspace boats of a roomier interior and an 11cm longer wheelbase. The model will be introduced successively in North America, China and Europe starting 2017, but the Allspace monicker will be used only in Europe.

At the moment, Volkswagen has released only a digital sketch of the Tiguan Allspace. The actual vehicle will be on display at the North American International Auto Show, which runs from 8 January to 22 January in Detroit.

The all-new Tiguan is set to be introduced in Malaysia in 2017. Unlike the previous generation Tiguan, this all-new model will be assembled in Pekan, suggesting that it will be competitively priced against the Honda CR-V and Nissan X-Trail. However, it’s still too early to tell if the seven-seater option will be offered here.
