British Racing Green Toyota 86, But Only In Japan

For a short period of time, Toyota is celebrating victorious British racing machines that are traditionally painted in Racing Green with a short production run of Toyota 86 coupe painted in that signature colour.

The 17-inch rims that feature a bronze coating, high-performance multi-piston Brembo braking system, SACHS absorbers, and a rear spoiler are available as an upgrade package simply called 'High Performance Package'.

Inside, Toyota has meticulously matched black and saddle tan colours, with the seats combining smooth leather, perforated leather, and Alcantara material.

Contrasting saddle tan stitching is found on the daily touch points: steering wheel, shift lever boot, and parking brake cover.

This limited special Toyota 86 is built on the “GT” grade, a variant just below the highest that available in the Japanese market.

Features included in the “GT” grade include keyless entry and push start button, decorative exhaust tip finishers, dual-zone automatic air-conditioning, multi-info display in a TFT screen, and leather-wrapped steering wheel with control switches.

To recap, the facelifted Toyota 86 features higher engine outputs of 207 PS and 212 Nm of torque, but only when paired with the 6-speed manual transmission. Improvements in the intake and exhaust manifolds help increased the outputs of the four-cylinder boxer engine.

The six-speed sports automatic transmission continues to be paired with the engine that debuted in the popular coupe, generating 200 PS and 205 Nm of torque.

Priced from JPY 3,251,880, the order books are open from now until the end of May, and customers are expected to receive their new British Racing Green 86 around the end of July. The aforementioned performance package cost an additional JPY 243,000.
