BMW Starts Off Communications On All-New G20 3 Series In Malaysia
Auto NewsBMW Malaysia has posted a series of kidney grilles that belong to the many generations of 3 Series, confirming a local introduction soon.
The all-new G20 3 Series is available in a few powertrains, but the line-up in Malaysia should consist of the 330i and 320i. Both engines are turbocharged four-cylinder petrol, with the former delivering outputs of 258 hp and 400 Nm of torque, while the latter achieves 184 hp and 300 Nm of peak outputs.
The popular hybrid variant called 330e is only scheduled for production in Germany in July, thus we should not be expecting it to reach our shores until the end of the year, earliest.
To recap, the G20 3 Series is the largest 3 Series ever, with a significant extension in all dimensions compared to the F30 generation.
BMW also says the body rigidity has been strengthened by 50 percent, while weighing up to 55 kilograms lighter.
Inside, much more technical assistance has been added. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant allows drivers to use natural voice to control various functions of the car. Owners can even unlock and start the engine all through their own smartphone.
Meanwhile, our neighbour up north offers two variants of the G20 3 Series: the 330i M Sport and the 320d Sport. The petrol variant is priced from 3.359 million Baht, while the diesel variant is priced from 2.959 million Baht.
The prices are higher than competitors, as well as its predecessor, as the model is fully imported from Germany, without the benefit of incentives through local-assembly.
