BMW Reveals X5M and X6M Black Fire Edition Models

BMW today announced the introduction of the X5M and X6M Black Fire Edition models; bringing out the ‘dark side’ of the performance models.

Destined only for the European market, the two Black Fire Edition models feature a range of unique exterior and interior features, setting them apart from the regular X5M and X6M.

On the exterior, both Black Fire Edition models are clad in Sapphire Black Metallic paintjob, and come with blacked out grilles with black louvres, carbon fibre side mirrors, and forged 21-inch M alloy wheels.

In the cabin, the two SUVs get black and red leather upholstery with an anthracite-coloured headliner; electrically-adjustable M-sport seats with integrated headrests, black high gloss trim elements, as well as ‘Black Edition’ logos which adorn the right side of the interior trim on the passenger side of the car.

Both models are powered by the same powertrain package as the standard X5M and X6M – a 4.4-litre V8 twin-turbo petrol engine producing 567PS at 6,000rpm and 750Nm of torque between 2,200 and 5,000 rpm, paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox that sends the power to all four wheels.

Capable of sprinting from naught to 100km/h in 4.2 seconds and clocking a top speed of 255 km/h, both the X5M Black Edition and X6M Black Edition will be available in Europe from August 2017.
