BMW Malaysia Officially Introduces The Z4, RM 479,800

Yes, with all the news and previews of the all-new BMW Z4, we are surprised as well that has only just been officially launched by BMW Malaysia. It's made available in a singular sDrive30i specification, which means it comes with a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine that pushes 258 hp and 400 Nm of torque, delivering power exclusively to the rear wheels through a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.

The price for this sun-seeking machine? RM 479,800.00 - exclusive of insurance, but with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, the free scheduled service programme, and a tyre warranty program. Monthly instalments on the Balloon Financing Plan start at RM 5,478.00 a month, based on an estimate of a 20% downpayment and a five-year tenure. Only four colours are available: San Francisco Red, Misano Blue, Black Sapphire (as shown here), and Alpine White.

As you'd expect from a modern BMW, the Z4 comes packed with the latest connected services and safety features. There's the BMW Live Cockpit Professional (love it or hate it) which occupies the entire instrument cluster, as well as a Digital Key for easier access through select Android phones that have NFC capability. Even Park Assist makes an appearance, helping with automated parking and exiting of tight parking spots with memory for up to 50 metres.

While we won't be expecting to see the higher spec M40i variant being introduced anytime soon, the Z4 has still been a model long overdue for a change, putting it far ahead of the competition that have yet to unveil their offerings in the highly niche market of two-seater luxury convertibles.
