The hatchback will be available in BMW dealerships from 25th November, 2015. And yes, it’ll come in more colours than this Crimson Red - there’s Black Sapphire, Mineral Grey, Midnight Blue and Alpine White, in case you were wondering. On the introduciton of the 118i Sport, BMW Group Malaysia, Mr. Alan Harris, Managing Director and CEO of BMW Group Malaysia said, “The new BMW 1 Series still remains the only rear-wheel drive car in its segment, making the car the most sportier and dynamic option in its class.”He added that the new BMW 118i Sport now also introduces the segment to a new generation engine with the latest BMW EfficientDynamics technology, the latest driver assistance systems and mobility services courtesy of BMW ConnectedDrive as well as a host of safety features, making the premium segment hatchback also one of the safest in its class. Just like the 1 Series variants, the short overhangs and long bonnet return here too. Very little is changed as far as the main body is concerned. There’s a new lower front apron with larger air intakes and LED headlamps frame the BMW signature kidney grille. The BMW 118i Sport sees the introduction of their 1.5-litre TwinPower Turbo petrol engine, the same powerplant that supplies internal combustion drive to the BMW i8. In this, it delivers 136hp and 220Nm of torque, giving the 118i Sport a 0-100km/h sprint time of 8.7 seconds. The engine is mated to an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission with Driving Experience Control modes, including the efficient ECO PRO mode that allows the car to achieve a claimed consumption figure of just 5.1-litres per 100km. On the inside, the 118i Sport uses Sensatec Leather for the upholstery, with other trim finished in High Gloss Black and Coral Red Matte as well as chrome surrounds for the radio and air conditioning controls. There’s a freestanding 6.5-inch central display with centre-console mounted control wheel. With BMW ConnectedDrive, the car offers Intelligent Emergency Call, Teleservices, and Remote Services functionality via a built-in SIM card, discarding the need for a smartphone. ✕ Let's Connect on Whatsapp We protect your personal information in compliance with the PDPA I agree with Carlist.my Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
