Home News Auto News BMW announces X1 and X4 CKD; price cuts for 3 GT, X3, and 5 Series BMW announces X1 and X4 CKD; price cuts for 3 GT, X3, and 5 Series Auto News Kon | April 25, 2016 07:43 pm BMW Group Malaysia has announced new CKD variants of the X1 and X4 sports activity vehicles, expanding its portfolio of locally-assembled vehicles in Malaysia to ten model lines with a total of over twenty variants of BMW and MINI vehicles.“The new locally-assembled BMW X1 and BMW X4 are a further testament to our longstanding investment and commitment to Malaysia as a strategic hub for the BMW Group in the South East Asian region,” said Mr Han Sang Yun, Managing Director and CEO of BMW Group Malaysia.Currently, in their fully-imported guises, the X1 and X4 each come with the choice of only one petrol-powered variant. The front-wheel driven X1 sDrive20i CBU is priced at RM279,800, whilst the all-wheel driven X4 xDrive28i is offered at RM435,800.Pricing of the new locally-assembled X1 and X4 variants have yet to be finalized, and will be announced when the cars officially go on sale. It has been announced that the X1 will have a new diesel variant to join the existing petrol model, whilst the X4 will continue to be available in its existing xDrive28i guise.Furthermore, Mr Han also announced that the pricing reduction on the 1 Series and 3 Series implemented earlier this year due to Customized EEV Status Incentives is now being followed by downward revisions on three models - 3 Series Gran Turismo, X3, and 5 Series – for the same reasons.Besides significant reduction in prices, the F10 5 Series will be getting a boost in equipment levels. All variants – 520d, 520i, and 528i – will be getting the M Sport Package with 18-inch alloy wheels, Keyless Entry, Front Sports Seats, and BMW ConnectedDrive as standard.
