Barber, Salon And Carwash Will Be Allowed To Open Under Phase 2 of NRP

Barbers, salons, car wash will be allowed to open and operate again when we transition into the Second Phase of our National Recovery Plan (NRP). 

If you've been scratching your head, or tresses or even staring forlornly at your unwashed car (why you haven't washed it yourself only you know) then wait till we don't know when yet but at least we now know that the automotive, ceramic, furniture, rubber, iron and steel and cement manufacturing sectors will be allowed to operate as we transition into the Second Phase of the NRP. 

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in a statement yesterday further added that stationary, computer, telecommunications, electrical appliances will also be on the positive list. 

All of the above sectors can operate from 8.00am to 8.00pm. 

Do note however that only basic hair cuts will be allowed at salons or barbers. 

Farmers and morning markets will also be allowed to operate from 7.00am to 11.00pm but is limited to selling vegetables, fruits, groceries, processed chicken, seafood and meat. Weekend markets, pasar malam and "Tamu" will remain closed. 

As expected inter-state travel will still not be allowed under the Second Phase of the NRP except for students sitting for examinations, teachers and pasangan jarak jauh but only if there is an emergency and with the relevant police permits. 

So in summary, sectors allowed to open under the Second Phase of the NRP are: 

• Barbershops, salons
• Car wash
• Automotive
• Ceramic
• Furniture
• Rubber
• Iron, Steel and Cement
• Stationary
• Computer
• Electrical appliances
• Telecommunications
• Farmers/ Morning market
