Bangkok 2018: Honda Previews The All-New Accord, To Offer Turbo And Hybrid Powertrains
Auto NewsHonda Motor Co. Thailand has just previewed the all-new Honda Accord at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2018.
Being just a preview, very little information has been shared on the silver model that is being displayed at the Expo. The company says the all-new Accord, now in its tenth generation, offers a revolutionary exterior design with sporty elegance which emphasizes a mixture of sport and luxury.
Compared to its predecessor, the all-new Accord features a longer wheelbase, and a wider but slightly shorter and lower body. In fact, the aggressively sloping C-pillar and rear panel has a strong resemblance to the smaller Civic sedan.
In the North American market, powertrain options are a 1.5-litre turbo (192 hp, 260 Nm) that is paired with a CVT-type automatic, a new 2.0-litre turbo (252 hp, 370 Nm) that sends its power via a new 10-speed torque converter automatic, and the third generation dual-motor petrol-electric sport hybrid.
Honda is planning to officially launch the all-new Accord in Thailand in early 2019. Back in September, a fully camouflaged test vehicle was caught doing its rounds in the streets of Thailand.
The company also launched the facelifted Honda Civic sedan at the Expo.
