We posted photos of the D4 earlier, though that model is not likely headed to Malaysia. Between the two, it is the T8 that is relevant to Malaysia, as that model is expected to be launched in Malaysia in early 2018.

For the Malaysian market, we understand that dealers have started to receive bookings for the all-new XC60 in both T5 and T8 variants.

The range-topping Volvo XC60 T8 pictured here is powered by a 2.0-litre twincharged engine mated to an electric motor for a combined system output of 407 hp and 400 Nm. Drive is sent to all four wheels. 0-100 km/h takes just 5.3 seconds, with top speed rated at 230 km/h.

Apart from the XC60 T8, the second variant is the lower-range T5, featuring a 2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that does 254 hp and 350 Nm, mated to an eight-speed Geartronic automatic. 0-100 km/h is done in 6.8 seconds, while top speed of the XC60 T5 is rated at 220 km/h.

When the fully-imported XC60 arrives in Q1 2018, we expect the entry-level T5 likely to be priced below RM350k, while the T8 Twin Engine could be priced closer to the RM400k mark. CKD operations for the all-new XC60 are expected to start later in 2018.
