Bangkok 2017: Mitsubishi Triton Athlete Launched, Powertrain Unchanged
Auto NewsAfter teasing us with a short video, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand has launched the new Triton Athlete at the 2017 Bangkok International Motor Expo.
President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Thailand, Mr Morikazu Chokki said, “I’m proud to host the global unveiling of the new Triton Athlete in Thailand at Motor Expo 2017. The new Triton Athlete is the pickup truck that combines stylishly bold looks with performance and represents Mitsubishi Motors’ commitment to ‘Drive Your Ambition’ – Our focus on enabling drivers to continue exploring new frontier and conquer breathtaking terrains”.
The new Mitsubishi Triton Athlete is only available as a Double Cab, available as 4x2 or 4x4 configurations. Body colours options include Diamond Black, Titanium Grey and White Pearl.
Unique to this model are these equipments – black honeycomb grille, front bumper garnish, black 17-inch alloy wheels plus black orange decals. No, the Triton Athlete does not get LED DRLs that stretches into the front bumper as the teaser implied.
Moving inside, the Triton Athlete gets orange black dual-tone leather seats with Athlete wording embroidered, orange stitching on the shift lever and centre console plus Trtion Athlete specific floor mats.
Powering the Mitsubishi Triton Athlete is a 2.4-litre DI-D MIVEC Clean Diesel engine that does 181 hp and 430 Nm. A six-speed manual or five-speed auto is available.
