Avengers: Endgame Featured In Audi E-Tron Superbowl Spot

Auto News

We've known Audi to be a long time supporter of the Marvel movie franchise, going all the way back to the Iron Man movies that started it all. Of course along the way there have been other manufacturers that have stepped in and had their products heavily featured, but Audi has perhaps been the longest and most consistent of all.

In doing so, this probably earned them to right to do this one-off, non canonical Superbowl ad featuring Captain Marvel and the Audi E-Tron. While this won't be part of the upcoming movie, it's a nice tie-in to the storyline that makes a little bit of sense if you follow the Marvel movies. For the rest who don't, it's a funny take on the changes in society over the last two decades or so.

The Audi E-Tron is Audi's electric vehicle for the (relative) masses. While it may not be as ultra-sexy as the Audi E-Tron GT Concept, it's the most important vehicle for Audi as they scramble to meet tightening fleet emissions regulations. The market has a huge appetite for SUVs, and electric SUV is the best way to get people to accept it. The raw figures are as follows: up to 408 hp and 664 Nm of torque from a standstill, electric quattro all-wheel drive, 300 km range, 30 minutes to charge to full with a fast charger, 8.5 hours to charge with a home socket. Whatever your view is, it's impressive how fluidly Audi has transitioned from championing their conventional vehicles to jumping right into electric vehicles. It's almost entirely natural, as if to say that the E-Tron is an "Audi first, electric vehicle second". Not every manufacturer is taking this approach, but perhaps this is the easier way to transition traditional customers into their newer line of products.
