Home News Auto News All-New Hyundai Tucson Debuts With New Looks, Lots More Tech All-New Hyundai Tucson Debuts With New Looks, Lots More Tech Auto News Gerard | February 23, 2015 01:12 pm Hyundai recently introduced the all-new Tucson that sits on a completely new platform and will go on sale in Europe after making its debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.The model which we know to directly compete with the likes of the Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5 types, features a new exterior design that adopts Hyundai’s signature hexagonal front grille, flanked by LED headlamps. Also incorporated into the wing-shaped front bumper are LED daytime-running lights. Moving along the side of the vehicle, one can see the ‘Z’ character-line that rests just above the rear wheel arches and at the rear, slim taillights can be seen.As mentioned earlier, beneath the exterior lies a new platform, allowing for a longer wheelbase of 2,670 mm (30 mm more than the previous Tucson). Overall, the all-new Hyundai Tucson is longer at 4,475 mm (previously 4,410 mm) and wider at 1,850 mm (previously 1,820 mm). With all the seats folded up, 513 litres of luggage is accessible.Inside the cabin, revisions to the ergonomics and the introduction of soft-touch materials can be seen. Passengers also benefit from heated and ventilated front seats and for convenience, a powered tailgate that opens at the approach of the key-holder and Smart Parking Assist System are found. The infotainment wasn’t detailed in full but it could very well debut Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability.Powertrain options range from petrol and diesel units. For the petrol variety, a standard and turbocharged 1.6-litre GDI unit is available with the former producing 135 PS and the T-GDI latter making 176 PS.As for the diesel power plants, a 1.7-litre and two 2.0-litre choices are available. Power outputs are at 115 PS to 136 PS and 184 PS. Transmission boxes are either a seven-speed dual clutch unit or six-speed manual.
