All-New Honda HR-V Teased – Global Reveal In February 2021

Auto News

Honda has just dropped a bombshell by revealing that the next-generation Honda HR-V will celebrate its global debut in exactly one month (18th Feb 2021) from now.

The third-generation of Honda's highly successful B-Segment SUV model will be highlighted by an all-new design, the latest generation two-motor hybrid drivetrains, and the latest in connectivity functions.

Honda has confirmed that certain markets will receive the Honda two-motor hybrid technology, also known as Honda i-MMD which is also found on the Honda Accord, CR-V (depending on market), and more recently, the Honda City RS also introduced here.

Honda also claims the Honda’s innovative hybrid set-up will offer high efficiency with refined, fun-to-drive performance in the new HR-V. One of the two official teaser images gives us a peek at the swooping roofline of the rear of the car, the other of the e:HEV badge hybrid variants will wear on the rear bootlid.

The current second-generation Honda HR-V was introduced in Malaysia in 2014 and has been a stellar performer ever since. The HR-V was a class leader in sales for its segment until the introduction of the Proton X50 in September of last year. Will the new one turn the tables on the X50, time will tell.

On February 18, we will have the first look at the new model in the flesh and undoubtedly know a whole lot more about the new model and its powertrains variants.
