Renault fanboys rejoice as T.C. Euro Cars, the official distributor of Renault vehicles in Malaysia (TCEC) has just launched the 2021 Renault MEGANE RS 300 TROPHY, a hot hatch that will be available for purchase or subscription, with a variety of plans to suit different budgets. With an upgraded 1.8-litre turbocharged engine, delivering an increased power output of 300 PS and 420Nm of torque (as opposed to 280PS/ 390Nm of torque in the RS 280 Cup launched in 2019), this Megane will be the most powerful Megane ever to grace our roads. The engine is mated to a 6-speed Efficient Dual Clutch (“EDC”) gearbox, which helps deliver the 420Nm of torque smoothly to the wheels. Like in other performance Meganes, the EDC gearbox comes with steering wheel-mounted gearshift paddles. The gearshift performance depends on which R.S. Drive mode is selected, comprising “My Sense”, “Save”, “Sport” or “Race” mode. Being a Megane R.S., the hot hatch will typically plant itself on the roads and around corners using Renault’s proprietary 4CONTROL technology that intelligently adjusts four-wheel steering based on speed. It also boasts a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 5.7 seconds. New features include all-new full LED headlamps and revised daytime running lights on the front, plus a new rear LED lighting signature. A new colourway is also available, in the form of Renault's Flame Red colour, which they claim has a vibrant finish and unique reflective effects that will highlight the sculpted yet elegant profile of the car. The honeycomb radiator grille with the Renault double diamond logo now has the RS badging underneath it. A set of diamond-cut 19-inch Jerez wheels with red borders inspired by the Renault Sport R.S.01 concept car finishes off the exterior look. On the inside, the new hot hatch comes with an R.S. exclusive double-diamond stamped specific leather and Alcantara steering wheel as well as a new sportier dashboard with 7” customisable TFT driver's information display. Since an integrated infotainment system is all the rage these days, interested buyers will be glad to know that the system will come with Renault's EASYLINK 7” touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 2021 Renault MEGANE R.S. 300 TROPHY comes with a three-year or 100,000km warranty (whichever comes first). Besides the new Flame Red colour, the new 2021 Renault MEGANE RS 300 TROPHY is also available in four colour options – Diamond Black, Pearl White and the signature Liquid Yellow (additional RM9,000) or Orange Tonic (additional RM9,000). The Megane RS 300 TROPHY comes in at a retail price of RM326,476 while the subscription plan starts from RM5,200 Test drives are available at selected Renault showrooms by appointments only and can be requested via the Renault Malaysia E-Store at www.renault.com.my. ✕ Let's Connect on Whatsapp We protect your personal information in compliance with the PDPA I agree with Carlist.my Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
